We discover the experience of two key partners of EUknow.it: the Fondazione CRT and Acri
A long history of projects and innovation, serving local organisations
La Fondazione CRT, lead partner of EUknow.it, has been active in European projects for 20 years, with its own activities as well as broader dissemination and capacity building activities. In 2006 and 2008, it published two printed Guides to EU Projects and Funding: aimed at nonprofit organizations and Local Authorities, they shared the spirit of this Guide and were widely distributed.
In the following years, Fondazione CRT implemented as a leader, or participated as a partner or associated entity, in several European projects:
- CARAVAN – Artists on the road (social and community theater co-produced and “traveling” through several European cities, later developed in a second phase into the Network of European Social and Community Theaters),
- STRING – Smart Tourists Routes for INclusive Groups (creation and marketing of accessible tourist routes in Piedmont and other areas of Europe),
- CCALPS – Creative companies in Alpine Space (network of cultural and creative organizations for the implementation of shared projects),
- S+T+ARTS (creating new paths of innovation in the contamination of art, science and technology).
In addition, Fondazione CRT is at the center of major initiatives on European projects in various areas of innovation and applied research through:
- OGR-TECH, dedicated hub of excellence dedicated to innovation, business acceleration and scientific, technological and industrial research, with European projects on green economy, gaming, digital transition, agrifood and health, art and sustainability, music and audiovisual and sustainable mobility;
- ISI Foundation, an internationally recognized research center in data and complex systems science, with European projects on the use of data and artificial intelligence in advanced analytics, health of vulnerable communities and pregnant women, prevention and response to epidemics such as the COVID-19 pandemic, hub responsibilities for respiratory disease prediction, computational social science, mobility and environmental sustainability.
EUknow.it: the platform to strengthen knowledge and skills on European projects
Since 2015, Fondazione CRT has been producing as lead partner EUknow.it, the Guide to EU Projects and Funding, known until 2025 as Guide to EU Projects and Funding. He oversees its content, development, partnership and dissemination at local, national and European levels.
The project has always been accompanied and supported by Acri, the association of Italian foundations of banking origin, which shares and facilitates its mission in terms of dissemination and capacity building.
Fondazione CRT and Acri thus interpret, in broad and “systemic” terms, their role as a “bridge” between local organisations and European funds. The Guide is in fact open and addressed to all local organisations in Italy – and beyond. It aims to support in a simple and immediate way those who work in European planning, to strengthen the planning capacity of local realities and to spread skills and tools for networking, in Italy and in Europe.
EUknow.it is a comprehensive tool, an “information ecosystem” that offers an operational handbook on European planning, up-to-date factsheets on all programs, a calls portal, a glossary, audio and video materials, thematic news and insights, interviews and project stories, and a question-and-answer section designed for the concrete needs of users.
EUknow.it is also a base from which its partners (and others) carry out punctual activities, in the different local organisations and sectors in which they operate: training, workshop, counter, support and co-financing activities on specific initiatives.
