{"id":20734,"date":"2019-01-21T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2019-01-21T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.guidaeuroprogettazione.eu\/progireg-european-project-construction-sites-for-a-green-city-in-turin\/"},"modified":"2025-12-03T17:05:54","modified_gmt":"2025-12-03T17:05:54","slug":"progireg-european-project-construction-sites-for-a-green-city-in-turin","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/euknow.it\/en\/progireg-european-project-construction-sites-for-a-green-city-in-turin\/","title":{"rendered":"ProGIreg European project: construction sites for a &#8220;Green City&#8221; in Turin."},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It started in June <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.progireg.eu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\n  <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ProGIreg<\/span>\n<\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, one of five European projects dedicated to <strong>inclusive urban regeneration<\/strong> based on environmental solutions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>After the official presentation in <strong>Dortmund<\/strong> (the project&#8217;s lead city) last fall, the first presentation workshops were also held in <strong>Turin<\/strong> and <strong>Zagreb<\/strong>, the other two European cities identified as &#8220;front-runners&#8221; in ProGIreg activities.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <strong>ProGIreg<\/strong> project (an acronym for &#8220;<\/span><em>\n  <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pro<\/span>\n  <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ductive <\/span>\n  <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">G<\/span>\n  <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">reen <\/span>\n  <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I<\/span>\n  <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">nfrastructure for post-industrial urban <\/span>\n  <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Reg<\/span>\n<\/em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>eneration<\/em>&#8220;) is the result of a very competitive selection process under the call &#8220;<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/cordis.europa.eu\/programme\/rcn\/701974_en.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\n  <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Smart City &#8211; Horizon 2020 SCC2- Nature-based solutions for inclusive urban regeneration.<\/span>\n<\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;. Carrying a contribution of more than 10 million euros (including more than 2.5 for the Turin partners), it directly involves the <strong>Mirafiori Sud<\/strong> neighborhood and many local organisations in the Turin area:  <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.comune.torino.it\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">City<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">,  <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.polito.it\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Polytechnic<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">  e  <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.unito.it\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">University<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">  Turin,  <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.envipark.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Environment Park<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">,  <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fondazionemirafiori.it\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mirafiori Community Foundation<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">,  <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.dualsrl.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dual<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">  e  <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ortialti.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tall Gardens<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Over the next five years (2018-2023) <strong>ProGIreg<\/strong> will transform large areas of the South Mirafiori neighborhood into an<strong> open-air laboratory of technological and social innovation<\/strong> to experiment with nature- and environment-based <strong>urban regeneration solutions<\/strong>.  <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The project specifically includes:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The creation of a two-thousand-square-meter &#8220;<strong>urban forestation<\/strong>&#8221; area along the banks of the Sangone stream, using regenerated soil;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">experimentation with innovative gardening and collective farming techniques, such as &#8220;green&#8221; roofs and walls or &#8220;aquaponics&#8221; (combining aquaculture and hydroponics techniques);<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The promotion of the social value of the activity through collaboration with associations, educational institutions, local farmers&#8217; groups and residents, and the promotion of circular economy techniques;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The development and shared management of &#8220;green&#8221; areas and infrastructure used for sharing and socializing;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Social accompaniment<\/strong> activities and pathways support citizens to develop entrepreneurial or expendable skills in the labor market.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A great example of how partnerships, innovative ideas and European projects can contribute to the development of our neighborhoods!<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It started in June ProGIreg , one of five European projects dedicated to inclusive urban regeneration based on environmental solutions.
