ProjectsFinder: the map of European projects and partners

Hand placing a thumbtack on a map, concept of searching European project partners through an interactive platform.

EUknow.co.uk launches ProjectsFinder: an interactive map to find out about European projects and who is implementing them, in your local organisations and across Europe

ProjectsFinder, what it’s for: searching for partners and learning about projects

Finding partners is one of the first steps in getting started on a European project.

It is almost always an indispensable step, because almost all directly managed European programs require the establishment of an international partnership.

Very often, particularly for those who are in their first attempts at participation, it is also a blocking step, because lack of knowledge about possible partners can discourage participation, or result in unsuccessful partnerships, or even generate unsuitable and dysfunctional partnerships that make the European project an “uphill” path.

Finally, partner search is definitely an enabling step: finding a good partner-or even better, a good coordinating organization-is a decisive factor in both presenting a good project and confidently taking one’s first steps in this field.

It is on the basis of these considerations that we created ProjectsFinder, an internal platform at EUknow.it that aims to facilitate the search for partners, through an interactive map and search systems that allow a comprehensive analysis of organizations implementing European projects as partners and as coordinators, in all thematic areas and in all local organisations in Europe.

In addition to the organizations, which can be viewed on an interactive map, ProjectsFinder allows you to search and analyze, in parallel, European projects that match the search criteria you set. It is therefore a tool that makes it easier to understand “what is moving” in one’s area of intervention in the world of European projects. Again, in all thematic areas and in all local organisations in Europe.

ProjectsFinder, how it works: a dual interface, powered by Funding&Tenders

ProjectsFinder thus works through a dual interface: an interactive map of organizations and a list of projects. Both return results based on search criteria, which can be set through appropriate filters.

The interactive map allows you to view, in a progressive zoom, the participating organizations in every country, in every area or Region, in every city and community in Europe. Clicking on the organization takes you to the list of projects implemented. By clicking on a project, one can view its summary and access further insights on the Funding&Tenders reference page.

On the map you can choose whether to view coordinating organizations or partner organizations, which are marked with different colors.

The list of projects meets the same search criteria set in the filters. If organizations (leaders or partners) that meet the criteria are displayed on the map, the list lists all projects implemented by those organizations. The list provides the essential data of the projects (title and summary, program, coordinator, country of reference, status, budget) and – once the dedicated tab is opened – a more complete description, the full list of partners, and the link to further investigation on the Funding&Tenders portal.

Applicable filters include:

  • The European Reference Program;
  • The status of the project (in progress, completed, to be started);
  • The project implementation period (included in a range from-to);
  • The project budget (divided into 6 budget ranges);
  • The Country and Region, referring to the nationality of the coordinating organizations or partner organizations (the filter changes depending on the preference set on the map). To be able to select a Region, you must have previously selected a Country;
  • A free keyword search within project titles and descriptions;
  • A free keyword search within the names of organizations.

All data are taken from the European Union Funding&Tenders Portal and updated weekly. Searches therefore maintain the same limitations found on that portal: projects not yet formalized, or related to programs not registered by Funding&Tenders, such as shared management programs (national, regional, Interreg), cascade funding, or programs using their own alternative platforms to Funding&Tenders are not displayed. The data on our ProjectsFinder are currently limited to projects funded under the 2021-2027 European programming.

The filtering system works with large databases and algorithms, so you need to allow the system time to process the required criteria before consulting the results or introducing a new criterion. If the system crashes, shows signs of malfunctioning, or if you simply want to start a new search, you should use the “reset filters” button or reload the web page.

ProjectsFinder, how to use it: some pointers, and a demo

We have prepared a short demo video to illustrate how ProjectFinder works. The video shows the most typical ways of use:

  • Searching for coordinating organizations and their respective projects through the interactive map by activating progressive zoom, selecting the organization and viewing its projects;
  • Searching – in the same manner – for partner organizations and their respective projects, while activating some additional filters (e.g., by European program);
  • Searching for a European partner by applying specific filters (e.g., European program of reference, project status and budget), searching the desired local organisations and viewing their projects;
  • Searching for a project through its title (with display of the respective partnership directly on the map) and through a keyword;
  • The display of the Help and Information section

Access ProjectsFinder.

If you encounter any malfunctions or in the inaccuracies while using the platform, please report it to us by writing to contacts@euknow.it.
